The Nominating Committee has selected the following people for the offices listed below and urges you to attend convention to elect these qualified persons to serve
on the State Board of Managers.

RECOMMENDATIONS FOR OFFICERS FOR 2008-2010

Officers to be elected at the 2008 convention are:

In accordance with Article VIII, Section 4, Paragraph (b), the vacancy in the office of President - Elect shall be filled at the next convention by the voting body. In the interim, duties of the president-elect shall be delegated by the president.

President – Elect --------- Tina Hartman
(1 year vacancy to be filled)

There were no nominations for the office of treasurer. In accordance with Article VIII, Section 2, Paragraph (b), Officers shall serve for a term of 2 years or until their successors are elected. Therefore, Debbie Smith will continue to serve as Treasurer.

Secretary: ---- Theresa Distelrath

Central Region Vice President: --- Sharon Wise

Northwest Region Vice President: --- Dee Jones

Each of the above named nominees has consented in writing to serve if elected.

 

Nominations may be made from the convention floor as provided in Article VIII, Section 3, Paragraph (d) and Section 5, Paragraph (g) of the Bylaws.

RECOMMENDATIONS FOR BOARD MEMBERS

Members of the Board of Managers are elected for a two year term. A form to be used when making a recommendation can be accessed here. Please explain and go over the following points with the person(s) you are recommending.

 1. Experience in PTA work.

 2. An understanding of the Indiana PTA and the National PTA objectives and policies.

3. Ability to work well with others, to speak effectively, and to write articles for the Indiana  Parent Teacher.

4. Time available to attend all meetings required as a board member (convention, four (4) days; three (3) meetings per year, at least two (2) days each; State Board training, at least one (1) day; region conferences, one (1) day). All board members serve on one commission

5. Time available to travel and service Units and Councils upon request.

6. Knowledge and expertise in the area for which they are recommended.

7. Willingness and dedication to serve.

Recommendation for board members can be made at any time during the year.
